Bookings are open for Spring and Summertime 21/22 currently.

Can we bring our pup?

Unfortunately, as we already have animals on the property we ask that they don't come along on your holiday.

Frequently Asked

Questions

Can we eat in?

You can bring along your own supplies which can be cooked on the BBQ. We also have a small kitchenette. Why not treat yourself and order one of our delicious hampers, or picnic packs, showcasing local fare and onsite produce? Enquire and order when booking.

What time should we arrive?

Arrive anytime from 2.00pm and please head out by 10.00am. If you are heading into the park on your last day you can leave your car safely on the property for the day. Let us know when you are arriving and we'll meet you at the entrance.

Can children stay at The Glade?

Due to the nature of the accommodation, the loft bed, and the surrounding riverside peninsula we don't allow small children to stay at The Glade Cottage. Our family cottage, 'Bankside' will allow for children and is coming soon.

Is there phone reception?

Yes you have full 4G cell reception at both cottages across all networks.

Do you provide breakfast?

We provide a light breakfast with your booking. If you would like us to provide a (cooked) breakfast hamper for you to whip up at your leisure, please let us know when booking (additional). Vegan and vegetarian options available. We can also offer yummy nutritious packed tramping lunches. Please arrange within your initial

booking.

How far away from the airport are you?

Kapiti Coast Airport | 44 km
Palmerston North Airport | 63 km
Wellington International Airport | 77 km

Is it possible to get there

on public transport?

Yes it is - from Wellington. We are only 15 minutes from the nearest train station, which takes around one hour 45 from the CBD. It's a really lovely trainride and at the city end there is a supermarket for your convenience. If you require a pickup we can come and collect you. View train timetable.

If coming from Palmerston North airport you will need a hire car.

What do you mean, off-grid?

The Glade Cottage runs its lights and power points from the sun. So it's on solar instead of electricity. You still have gas hot water, with a hot shower, (and a flushing toilet). It is on 12v, which means you can charge small devices such as phones and tablets, however you can't run a hair dryer, or charge your computer. Bring your computer fully charged! Bankside is similar but is on 240v.
